In perpetuation of its investigation on subjects and issues of the political history of the Yemeni revolution through the files: September (Where Change Stumbled), October (The Revolution that extinguished the Empire’s Sun in the East), and November (The Price of Independence), today “Khuyut Platform” opens a file under the title (May 22; Stumbling and undermining projects).

The idea of this file started from an editorial keeping pace with the unity anniversary, then expanded to conduct a survey that included some of those involved in public affairs issues (intellectuals, writers, jurists, economists, civil and political activists). It is based on a two-part question; The first: examines the causes of the failure of the unity state, a few months after its announcement, and the second: explores the opinions of those surveyed about the future of the unity in light of the horrific dismantling of the form of the state and the undermining projects that lie in wait for the Yemeni entity.

Shortly after, many opinion and analysis articles were received by the platform by male and female writers, politicians, and activists delving into the same vital question, and expressing different opinions that sometimes reach the point of conflict, which was welcomed by the platform to allow everyone to present their views from the point of freedom of speech away from personalization and looseness.

We liked the idea of publishing a documentary material consisting of three main documents related to the event:

-  The Constitution of the Republic of Yemen, which was consulted in mid-1991; that is, nearly a year after the declaration of the Republic of Yemen on May 22, 1990.

- "The Agreement on the Declaration of the Republic of Yemen and the regulation of the Transitional Period", which was signed on April 22, 1990 in Sana'a.

- The "Document of Covenant and Agreement", which was agreed upon by the Yemeni political forces, in their efforts to prevent the country from sliding into the looming civil war. It was signed in the Jordanian capital on January 18, 1994, which couldn’t prevent the outbreak of war between the brothers few months later, and the repercussions of this war and its consequences continue to ravage the country, north and south.

"Khuyut" seeks, through this file, to contribute to discoursing the causes of the problem, and to read the dimensions of the dismantling projects that regional powers are working to perpetuate using purely local tools.

By doing so, we are betting on “untainted political mentality that takes the initiative and transform the few opportunities into a vision for making peace with strong principles. Consequently, going to produce strong and responsible leadership that takes into account the interests of Yemenis in the south and north, and what they decide about the shape of future and the form of their state and with the contents of a modern renaissance using political approaches that everyone agrees on,” according to what was stated in its editorial.
